Jerry was one of the "good guys"...a rare breed. He was loved by many; his family, his friends, co-workers, employers and even strangers took an instant liking to him. I had the good fortune to not only meet him, but to be married to him..if even for a brief time. I met Jerry on Valentines Day in 2000 while I was working in Chicago. Jerry was the most caring and affectionate man I had ever met and our relationship continued even after I had to move back to Los Angeles. It was during this time we made plans for Jerry to move to L.A. and be married. This was a difficult decision because this meant he would have to leave 4 children and many friends behind. However, on January 19, 2001 Jerry made his move to L.A., and when he arrived he began to become ill. On January 25th, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He wanted to stay with me in L.A. and on February 14th we were married. Even though Jerry was a big and strong man, he could not fight this terrible disease and on March 15th, 2001 he passed away. I know there will never be another Jerry and many will miss him. I know he is with his mother and father now, and I know he watches over us. Peace Be With You Jerry. |
